Parsoua MAHTASH

Painter and art lecturer

Parsoua Mahtash was born in November 1980 in Bandar Abbas, Iran. He spent his childhood in different cities in Iran and started learning Fine Arts under the supervision of renowned artists. At the age of 18, he began his professional career in painting and drawing.

After taking part in several group exhibitions both inside and outside the country, as well as publishing some of his paintings, he decided to withdraw from exhibiting his artworks and got engaged in studying advanced techniques of the masters of art history, particularly artists of the Nineteenth century, instead.

Meanwhile, parallel to his main profession, he embarked on a journey to discover and experience various fields of art including Photography, Stage Design, Music, Graphic Design, Advertising, Branding, etc. which, in turn, resulted in his cooperation with some well-known brands and carrying out special individual and group projects.

After 15 years of studying advanced techniques of the 19th century painters and gaining experience in various fields, he started a new chapter in his career with a different approach towards painting. As he stated: “technique without concept is just a craft; and concept is pointless without mastery.” In my opinion, the combination of the two can lead to creation of an artwork that can establish a meaningful communication with the audience, which is the most important element of contemporary art. His new approach, after three years, led to creating his first painting series “Re-Location, A trilogy” which was exhibited in Aaran Art Gallery in July 2021.

Parsoua Mahtash has been teaching painting and drawing standards based on international academic methods in established institutions during the last 20 years. He has also been involved in instructing the principle knowledge of painting and drawing to many young artists.
